My thanks to the committee for my invitation to judge Deerhounds at this lovely show, run separately in the afternoon following Hound Day at Bath Championship Show. Although completely separate from Bath Show the facilities were superb. My thanks also to my efficient and friendly steward who made me feel very welcome.

Puppy Dog/Bitch 6(2)
1st Peach’s Rubeus Hagrid to Kilbourne (NAF) Best Puppy 11 months old, masculine dog with lovely head, dark eye. Nicely folded ears. Correct scissor bite. Good reach of neck onto well laid shoulders. Good return of upper arm and a fore-chest. Straight well muscled front legs with good bone. Dark coarse coat. Deep chest with width in brisket. Good tuck up to strong and well muscled over loin. leading to good slope of croup. Well set on tail. Sound on the move.
2nd Peach’s Blixten Star to Kilbourne - 8 month old bitch, Not quite as mature as the winner, but a beautiful puppy, which I would happily have taken home. Lighter colour of coat. Feminine head, correct scissor bite, neat ears, dark eye, good reach of neck onto well laid shoulder. Straight forelegs, well muscled for one so young, strong knuckled feet. Good depth of chest, spring of rib,tuck up to well muscled loin leading to just the right slope of croup with well set tail. Moved soundly.
Junior Dog/Bitch 5 (1)
1st Peach’s Kilbourne Max Best Dog - Another beautiful young male, starting to mature out of puppyhood Masculine head, dark eye, correct scissor bite. Long, strong neck onto well laid shoulder. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Tuck up to strong well muscled loin, good length from hip to well let down hocks. Sound on the move.
2nd Wragg’s Neroche Jesca -Balanced,feminine bitch with dark coarse coat. Beautiful head, good reach of neck onto strong well laid shoulder. Strong straight forelegs, well knuckled feet Lovely depth of chest and spring of rib, well muscled loin, leading to good slope of croup with well set tail. I really liked this young lady but although very sound, felt she didn’t move today, as well as my winner of this class.

1st Bailey’s Greyflax Teen Spirit Best Bitch and Best of Breed Well constructed bitch with a beautiful head, neat ears, scissor bite, very correct front and rear construction, strong well knuckled feet. She has depth of chest and good spring of rib. Good length of body, well muscled in loin and lovely fall away of croup. She won the class on her movement, which was sound and true.
2nd Taylor’s Kilbourne Tess to Talorpeche. Another feminine bitch with a lovely head and expression. Nicely folded small ears. Correct front and rear construction with balanced angles. Harsh coat.
Open Dog 3 (1)
1st Lewis’s Luckhurst Nairn — Just rising 4 years old, pleasant head and well muscled reach of neck. Good front and rear construction, neat feet, depth of chest. Shapely strong rear quarters with good tuck up. Moved ok. .
2nd Lucas and Dargonne’s - Packway Commanche Moon. Of his handler’s own admission this dog was tired and didn’t really want to move. A much larger dog than winner of the class. Silver coated dog. Elegant head, good reach of neck onto shoulder. Good depth of chest and tuck up, well ribbed with spring. Plant of length from hip to hock. Well knuckled feet.
